ところで、北欧の一番有名な妖精を知っていますか？

一番有名な妖精はトロールです！

トロールは北欧の国、特にノルウェー伝承に登場する妖精の一種であります。
トロールの中で、怖いトロールがいますけど、とても可愛く優しいトロールもいます。
例えば、皆さんが大好きムーミントロールです！

デンマークを初めとした北欧では昔から「トロール」と言う精霊の口承伝説があります。ちなみに，デンマークではニッセと呼ばれています。北欧の人々は，森や湖・山・川・家・海などの厳しい大自然のあらゆるものに森の精などの精霊が宿ると信じて，彼らを敬い，彼らの力を期待して共に生きてきました。ムーミンはトーベ・ヤンソンの自然と共に育った環境から現代のトロールとして誕生いたしました。ムーミンは1939年に誕生（小さなトロールと大きな洪水）しました．1954年にイギリスの日刊紙にムーミンの漫画が掲載されムーミンとその仲間達は世界中に知れ渡りました。子供達の友情と冒険心.いろいろな出来事を子供達が解決していくムーミンの物語は，いつの時代でも子供達のあこがれの世界です。トーべ・ヤンソンはムーミンの創作に対して1966年に童話の世界的権威である「アンデルセン大賞」を受賞いたしました。ムーミンとその仲間達は，フィンランドやデンマークの北欧はもちろんですが2度のTVアニメを放映した日本など世界中の人々から愛されています。

The answer is the troll!
“A troll is a supernatural being in Scandinavian folklore and mythology. In origin, the term troll was a generally negative synonym for a jötunn (plural jötnar) being in Norse mythology. In later Scandinavian folklore, trolls became beings in their own right, typically portrayed as large, dull, particularly ugly creatures that live in caves or other subterranean dwellings.” (Source: Wikipedia)
Not only scary and bad trolls, but you can also meet really kind and friendly tolls, like our lovely Moomin!
But at Hosiikamo Times, we aim at offering only pleasant time; that's why I am going to introduce the Moomin trolls tonight!
A long time ago, in Denmark, there were legends that people were telling about the spirits of dead people named as “trolls”. Scandinavian people have always been respectful toward the nature (woods, lakes, mountains, seas, rivers…). In the same time, they strongly believed about the spirits from the woods. Tove Jansson grew up also in this atmosphere and beliefs and from it, imagined the Moomin characters, representing a family of trolls. Their adventures started in 1939 and were published 15 years later in a London newspaper named the Evening News, introducing in the meantime the Moomin family to the world. Since, The adventures of the Moomin trolls and their friends, always looking for a solution to their problems have become very popular with young people around the world.
