北欧のデザインを知ろう！第1弾 - Scandinavian Design Stories

こんにちは。
北欧雑貨は好きだけど、デザイナーは知らない方のために、
北欧のデザイン商品とそのデザイナーさんを紹介したいと思います。


第1弾は、北欧を代表するJacob Jensen(ヤコブ・イェンセン)をご紹介します。

Jacob Jensenはデンマークコペンハーゲン生まれの、北欧を代表するプロダクトデザイナーです。
彼は美術工芸学校でインダストリアルデザインを学び、1958年にJacob Jensen Designを立ち上げました。 
60～70年代には世界的なオーディオブランドである、B&O (Bang &Olufsen)でチーフデザイナーとして活躍しました。
その時期に生み出した19点の製品は、ニュヨーク近代美術館のコレクションに永久展示として選ばれています。

彼はデザインをする時、自然からインスピレーションを受けていました。
その自然から見える線と曲線の美を追求した、ミニマルなデザインを確立しました。
バウハウス以来、デザイン歴史上最大の影響を与えたと言っても過言ではない、インダストリアルデザイナーです。

彼のデザイン哲学が言わずとも感じられるクロック。

We would like to introduce Scandinavian design products together with the designer information starting today here at Hosiikamo blog. 
First designer is Jacob Jensen, one of the most important designers from Scandinavia.

Jacob Jensen is an industrial designer from Copenhagen, Denmark. He is one of the best known designers who contributed largely to create “Scandinavian design”.
He established a design company “Jacob Jensen Design” in 1958, after majored in industrial design at design school.
From 1960's to 1970s, he worked with B&O (Bang & Olufsen) as a chef designer. 
Jacob Jensen created a number of products, and some of them are chosen to MoMA’s permanent collection in New York (The Museum of Modern Art). 

He received much inspiration from the nature, and reflected it into his design.
His minimal designs were coming from this inspiration and his pursuit of the beautiful lines.
After Bauhaus, the art school in Germany, his design work have been one of the biggest influences in the design history and will remain forever.
