最近日本のお店やオンライショップに“reddot design award”という文字と下のロゴをよく見ると思います。
でも、どんなものか知っていますか？
これは、ドイツのエッセンという町にあるノルトライン・ヴェストファーレン・デザインセンターが選定を行っている国際的なデザインアワードです。
1955年から毎年行われております。
デザイナーにとってレッドドット賞を受賞することは、自分がデザインした商品の創造力とセンスが世界的に認められるということです。
カテゴリーが三つあります。- Product design (商品デザイン)
- Communication design （コミュニケーションデザイン）
- Design concept （デザインコンセプト）
現在、レッドドット賞は約60ヶ国から、12,000点の応募があり、世界一大きく有名なデザインコンテストといえます。
アップルやBMW、ボーズ、アウディなど有名な会社もレッドドット・デザイン賞を受けました。私達のパートナーもレッドドット賞を受けています!

If you look carefully the design items in store or online, you will notice for few of them red logo with the mention “reddot design award” (see above).
But you might wonder what it means…
The red dot design award is international product design prize awarded by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen located in Essen , Germany
It is an award to distinguish creativity and design sense. A real achievement for all designers in the world!
It is divided in 3 different categories:
- Product design
- Communication design
- Design concept
The red dot design award represents now about 12,000 entries from more than 60 nations, which makes it the biggest and most renowned design competition worldwide.
Some of the most famous companies have won this award: Apple Computers, BMW, Bose Design Center, Audi...
