今日は北欧から少し離れたお話をしたいと思います。


本日、1月26日は、オーストラリアの日（Australia Day）です。

今からなんと228年前、1788年の今日、イギリスの艦隊がオーストラリア大陸を発見したことから、オーストラリアでは祝日として毎年祝われているそうです。
いわばオーストラリアの「建国記念日」、また、“オーストラリア人がオーストラリア人であることのすばらしさ”を祝う日なのです。
