北欧テキスタイル・ファブリック - Textile/Fabric from Scandinavia

先日、渋谷Bunkamuraにて開催されているMarimekko展に行ってまいりました！



数々のファブリックやお洋服の実物と合わせて、創設者アルミ・ラティアについて、また当初のデザイナー紹介から世界的ブランドに発展していく過程で活躍したデザイナーの紹介など、期待以上におもしろいコンテンツの詰まったイベントでした。

そして素人丸出しでお恥ずかしいのですが、マリメッコと日本人デザイナーの密接な関係性に驚きました。
ブランドとして認知されはじめた60年代後半から、脇阪克二氏や石本藤雄氏など、日本人デザイナーを起用してブランドの発展に色濃く貢献していたんですね！


ヘルシンキの空港もマリメッコファクトリーも、どうしてこんなに日本人が多いのか、その謎がすっと解けた気がしました。
日本人のアイデンティティーがブランドに浸透しているようです。


マリメッコのお洋服、いつか奮発して買ってみたいです！

Georg Jensen Damask

Georg Jensen Damaskはデンマークの老舗テキスタイルブランドです。
王室御用達ブランドとして、長年デンマーク国民から愛されています。

このGeorg Jensen Damaskから、日本人デザイナー河東梨香さんが手掛けたコレクションが、FUSUMA（フスマ）。

その名の通り、日本のフスマからアイデアを得たデザインです。
テーブルクロス、テーブルランナー、プレイスマット各色取り扱っております。

またHYGGEはもちろん、By MayやGENSEのアペタイズも日本からのインスピレーションを受けて開発されたと言われています。

北欧×日本のコラボレーション、まだまだ探していきたいですね！

I went to Marimekko exhibition held in Shibuya, Tokyo this weekend.

This event tells and shows the history of the brand, stories behind the patterns and designers, as well as real samples of the fabric and the dress.

Only as a beginner of Marimakko myself, I was surprised how close Japanese designers worked with and devoted for the brand development from early times.

I kind of understood the reason why Japanese people love marimekko so much; the Japanese-identity is secretly hidden in the designs in that way.

The fair is until 12th of February,  I recommend you to visit if you are around!

On Hosiikamo, we also have textile designed by a Japanese designer.

The FUSUMA series from Danish textile brand Georg Jensen Damask was designed by Rika Kawato, who has a strong roots with Danmark herself.

Also, By May or Appetize-series from GENSE has strong inspiration from Japan and Japanese culture.

And of course HYGGE as well, the Japanese watch brand with Scandinavian design.
