Finlayson エレファンティのデザイナー来日 Designer of Elefantti pattern in Japan

こんにちは。

今日は春らしいとてもあたたかいお天気ですね。桜も少しずつ開花しています！

昨日、とあるお食事会にご招待いただき、参加してきました。

Hosiikamoでも人気のFinlayson エレファンティシリーズをてがけたデザイナー、Laina Koskela（ライナ・コスケラ）さんが現在来日されていて、なんとお会いすることができました！

彼女は現在日本語を少しお勉強されているとのことで、とても上手に日本語でご挨拶されていました！

とても気さくな方で、デザインのお話や家族のお話なども伺うことができました。

Lainaさんのゾウのイメージは、『エキゾチック』だそうです。

魅惑的なゾウをデザインしたのは、幼少期の思い出からのインスピレーションだそう。

Lainaさんは第二次世界大戦が終戦を迎えた時代に生まれ、子供のころは今のように遊ぶものがたくさんなかったそうです。

そんな中、子供たちは古い生地などを使ってものを作り、遊んでいたそうです。

エレファンティのパターンは、その頃Lainaさんのお兄さんが持っていた、古着で作られたライトグレーのゾウさんの記憶をたどり、1969年に誕生したのです。

そんなLainaさん、今回なんと幕張で行われるFinlaysonフェアに急遽ご参加されることになりました！

会場は(株)東京インテリア家具 幕張店の1階寝装品売り場です。

14時よりLainaさんのトークショーがあります！

フェアでは、Hosiikamoで販売しているフィンランドのFinlaysonだけでなく、さまざまな国内ブランドとのコラボレーション商品もたくさん紹介されています。

Ms. Laina Koskela, a designer of the pattern “Elefantti” from Finlayson is now visiting Japan from Finland for the first time, and yesterday I could meet her at a dinner party in Tokyo.

It was an honor for me to meet her!  

She told us the story how the pattern “Elefantti” was born.

When she was a child and the war over, there were not so many materials for children to play with.

That time children used to play with something which were made from old clothes or fabrics, and her brother used to have this light-grey color elephant. “Elefantti” was born from this childhood memory of hers, and was designed in 1969.

This Sunday 29^th March, she will attend “Finlayson fair” held by Tokyo Interior Makuhari branch in Chiba prefecture. Here you can see imported Finlayson items which we sell at Hosiikamo, but also many other collaboration products with Japanese companies.

Her talk event will start from 14:00 at the 1st floor.
