Good morning

As design select webshop, we aim at offering the best of design from Scandinavia but also the world. One of our most telling examples is our partner Phosphor Watches, which offers watches with unique designs and technologies.

When the costumers look an imported item, his most frequent answer might be: “Is it popular overseas?”

北欧のバード(鳥) – Bird in Scandinavia

おはようございます

毎晩、家の帰る時に、家の近く駅で面白い経験があります。階段のビルボードの上に小さい巣があります！階段を下りる時、この鳥の家族を見て、とてもびっくりしました！東京でそんな可愛い自然のイメージが見える！ちょっと暗いですけど、写真をとってみました。

国の代表的な動物ですが、鳥がよく選ばれました。

デンマークの代表的な動物はコブハクチョウです。

（ノルウェー：ヘラジカ、スウェーデン：エルクとライオンとダーラへスト、フィンランド：ヒグマとオオハクチョウとパーチ）

Good morning everybody!

In the station close to my home, I can see everyday a surprising scene. On a billboard located in the stairs, I can see a nest with its bird family… Such a nice natural image in the biggest metropolitan in the world!

It was dark, but I try to take a picture (above).

The bird is often the representative animal of a country, such as Denmark with the mute swan.

(Norway: moose; Sweden: lion, Elk, Dalecarlian horse; Finland: Brown bear, whooper Swan, perch)

But Danish designers, like our partners, also choose a bird to offer cute and unique design:

This week, my colleagues are on business trip in Denmark. Even though it is work, how lucky they are!For people like me in Japan, we are doing the best to bring Scandinavia to your home! One day with Hosiikamo in Scandinavia lifestyle!

フランス人ですから、ライフスタイルについて、私は食事とテーブルコーデイネートに一番興味がありました。フランス語でArt de la tableという表現があります。フランス人の生活の中に、食事はとても大事です。だからフランスの料理（Gastronomie）は世界遺産になりました。食べ物だけじゃなくて、フランスの食事のしかたと文化も含めます。

だから買い物するたびに、テーブルクロスとテーブルウェアに興味が有ります（時々買います。。。）。それで、私は北欧の商品が好きです。北欧のデザインについて、二つのポイントが好きです。一つポイントはこのシンプルなデザインです。家族と友達フランスの家でいる気持ちが有って、暖かい気持ちもあります。例えば、ほしいかもで販売しているGEORG JENSEN DAMASKのキッチンタオルを見たら、キッチンで料理を作っている母を見る時間を思い出します。

Good Morning Everybody!

The reason might be my nationality, but I have always been especially interested about the lifestyle around the table. In French, we say “Art de la table”. In the French life, the meals have always been really important and that’s why the French gastronomy has been named UNESCO World Heritage. Not only the French cuisine, it also includes the culture and our way to enjoy a meal.

When I go shopping, I always find time to check tablecloths or tableware (and sometimes buy…). The Scandinavian brands offer a lot of interesting and nice products. Personally, there are 2 points I like: the simple design with warm feelings which makes feel going back home with family and friends. For example, the Georg Jensen Damask kitchen towels remind me the time my mother was cooking in the kitchen… Such a long time in Japan, but with these cute items I really feel going back to my hometown…

The second point is naturally the design sense and the royal elegance of Scandinavian brands like the Pearl Series by Jacob Jensen or the collection from Georg Jensen Damask, purveyor of her Majesty the Queen of Denmark.

These 2 points really make Scandinavian tablecloths and tableware special and unique!
