It is really amazing to think such a huge Dome has been used for orchids!
I don’t know how many orchids are there, but the venue is beautiful and colorful!
By the way, I would like to thank the Ambassadress for her invitation and offer us the possibility to participate to this nice event. The Ambassadress made a beautiful table setting (picture above).
I was also really glad to see she was using a table cloth from Georg Jensen Damask, one of our brand partners. I have talked few times about Georg Jensen Damask, but it is a really stylish brand!
At last, I would like to conclude by saying I love design because this is a perfect tool to gather people together to share the same interest and passion. Just look at the pictures above to see how we enjoy time together.
But does everybody know this famous Finish character?
The Moomins are characters created by the Finish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson.
They are a family of white and roundish trolls with a big snout which makes them looking like a hippopotamus. This family lives in their house in Moominvalley, located in the Finish forests. They have many fun adventures with their friends such a Snufkin or Little My!
Today, Moomin‘s world includes books, comics, movies, animation series, song, theme park, museum, painting on an airplane or a commemorative coin.
It seems the Scandinavian weather came to us in Japan!
Did you build a snowman? I tried to build a snow Moomin (he is also white), but I am too bad… Last year, there was a really nice snow statue of Moomin in Sapporo for the ice festival.
About the table coordination in my previous posts, Ms. Hama sent me a picture I would like to share with you (above). By using our stylish Georg Jensen Damask table cloth, she made a beautiful table setting.
I would like to start today with a really cute story from Copenhagen
a lovely city and the city of love.
There are now many romantic restaurants in the city such as NOMA or the recent Paul Bocuse 2011winner Rasmus Kofoed’s restaurant.
But if you have the chance to ride the bus line 103 in Copenhagen, please check the seats. You will find the “Love seats”. They have been installed in the bus of this line to give the chance to peopleto meet their future love.
How cute are Danish people!
But let’s go back to Japan, from yesterday the japanese magazine贈りものバイブル has been on sale in the bookstores. Check the page 81 and you will find one of our products: the Moshi Moshi 04. A stylish handset with speakers. It is the perfect example of products compelling convenience, fun and beauty.
An amazing item designed by a worldwide famous designer Michael young. The list of his achievements could be very long; personally I do like his sense of design.
Definitively the Moshi Moshi will be soon a top sale in concept stores!
On Friday, I went to Tokyo Dome for a Tableware festival.
It’s opened to the public from the 5th to the 13th of this month.
I was invited by Ms. Hama, but this time I will talk about her daughter.
Her name is Yuki and she participated to the contest organized at the venue.
You can see her work on the picture above.
Yuki’s explanation from Ms. Hama:
“Youngest selected, Yuki is a first year high school student and my daughter. her work is titled “I love Activities clubs. Friends and Happy Eco Lunch Time!”. As Judge for the contest, I did not know she was selected. That’s why without any advice from me, she did design and set up her own work. She made this decoration and coordination with her pocket money: a work expressing love, youngness (high school) and joy.”
The festival was also for me the opportunity to find out more about dark colors in home decoration. While dark colors are popular in fashion, it is more difficult to get a good harmony with dark colors in home decoration.
But after checking professional’s booth, I could learn how it can be beautiful to use dark colors if the harmony between black and white is respected.
You can see examples with our brand partner Georg Jensen Damask products and how stylish can be a home with dark colors.
Arne Jacobsen cushions on sale at hosiikamo web store:
But from now I will let Ms. Hama, an interior coordinator explaining the red color in interior design:
“Really, Georg Jensen Damask is an elegant brand.
Thanks to the lovely feelings we receive, red table clothes are perfect for celebration day, such as Valentine’s Day or birthday. Red is the color of passion and love. In Japan, Red is often used to chase away the evil.
As Japanese table coordinator, I chose red table clothes as base color, because the image and feelings will change according on the accent color.
- Red and white will give a modern image. If you add silver, it becomes more stylish.
- Red and black will have a dramatic image. To set the table, it is difficult to find items in black, but black candles or vases will be beautiful.”
